FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions: “
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST FOR MY CHILD TO SIGN UP FOR THE PROGRAM ?”
SASH is completely free! We do accept donations though! ALL ARE WELCOME!
“WHERE DOES MY CHILD ATTEND THE PROGRAM?”
The SASH Program takes places at our local Elementary schools as well as at JFK Middle School in the Spring.
“DOES MY CHILD GET TO PRESENT THEIR WORK?”
Yes - at the end of our 8-10 week sessions, and 20 hours of creative work with students, we give our students a chance to finish our journey together with a tour of NHS and our Final Showcase for friends, family and the whole community.
“CAN MY CHILD DO SASH MORE THAN ONCE?”
Yes, in-fact we encourage our students to participate every year. As of now we offer programs starting in 4th grade all the way up to 8th grade! Once your child start high school they can become a mentor themselves.
“DO I NEED TO BE “GOOD” AT ART TO JOIN?”
No matter your experience with any art form, all skill levels are more the welcome! This program is all about growth, learning and fun - none of which requires a ton of “technical artistic” skills going in! All we ask is for our students to have a positive mindset and come ready to build, create and learn!
“HOW DO I VOLUNTEER?”
As a small organization we are always looking for people who are interested in the program to come help out. Whether you are a high school student interested in becoming a leader, a parent excited about the program or an expert in media or child development, we would love to hear from you. We are always looking for new contributions and ways to grow our organization.
